MADE IN ITALY SINCE 1987
NOMINATION, created by Paolo Gensini in Florence, Italy, was the first brand to offer a fashion accessory capable of expressing one's personality, values, passions, politics, secrets and sensibilities.
Intrigued by the customizable aspect of traditional charm bracelets, Gensini devised a modular or "composable" bracelet comprised of a series of links. Connected by a spring-loaded mechanism, each segment could be filled (and replaced), one by one, with a different decorative design. Fashioned out of high quality stainless steel, the pieces were guaranteed never to tarnish or fade. Gensini named his new creation "Nomination" from the Latin term meaning "to give someone an appropriate name". To date, Nomination continues to offer innovative lines that reflect passions of life.
1987 Nomination creates the world's first COMPOSABLE bracelet, an absolute innovation in the jewellery world. The bracelet immediately becomes a must-have accessory.
1988 Nomination creates the XTE, a collection of expandable bracelets and rings for the modern woman who wants simple yet sophisticated jewellery.
2000 Nomination celebrates the new Millennium with a unique concept: the 2000 collection. Fun, dangling charms create a young, fresh look on the composable bracelet.
2001 Nomination creates the CUBIAMO and SAINT TROPEZ collections. Plaques and cubes alternating on soft ribbons of coloured leather.
2002 Nomination introduces the WATCH collection. Two models: Round and Tonneau. The first Nomination mono-brand store opens in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.
2003 Nomination creates two new lines: RH Nomination it's own interpretation of the military "dog tags", and the VENUS collection, unique pendants in mother of pearl mosaic with casing in stainless steel and 18k gold.
2004 The first Italian mono-brand store opens in Florence. Nomination launches "The original sign of communication" advertising campaign promoting the innovative GROOVE, FREESTYLE, TRENDSETTER and BLADE collections.
2005 Nomination signs an agreement with Warner Brothers to launch the Batman and Superman collections. The new FREEDOM, BUTTERFLY, MIXED and HEART collection are launched.
2006 FANTASY, HAWAII, BANGLE, HEART LOCK N'KEY, PLAY and BOND fashion collections are introduced. Nomination mono-brand store opens in Milan on Corso Venezia, close to such brands as Dolce & Gabbana.
2007 - Nomination celebrates 20 years of business and introduces the 20 years Limited Edition Bracelet. Mono-brand stores open around the world in hot spots such as New York, Cyprus and Munich. In addition, AQUA is launched - the first of a four part collection inspired by the 4 Elements.
2008 Nomination launches the Camelia collection and a new collobration with CRYSTALLIZED(TM) - Swarovski Elements. This year saw another set of store openings in major cities around the world including the opening of the first mono-brand store in the UK at Westfield London, the biggest shopping centre in Europe.
2009 Nomination launches its first ever SILVER collection with hand-crafted jewellery in sterling silver (silver 925) and hydrothermal stones. The brand continues to expand its international network of stores with the opening of the first mono-brand store in Peking, China and the new luxury store concept is launched with the opening of the flagship store in Venice.
2010 Launch of the new campaign Nomination Gioie di Vita - a story encompassing a thousand and one meanings. It is a promise kept. The anticipation of a new day, filled with surprises and precious moments. A treasure, a jewel to be worn with pride and looked after for a lifetime. Nomination creates a new reality for the Composable Bracelets with the Royal and Charms Collection. The brand continues to expand and open a store in Venice.
2011 Nomination open its first stores in the Middle East confirming its worldwide success. Yet this year signed the partnership with Sanrio creating the Hello Kitty Composable Collection.
